Suggested Discussion
Have students in groups of 4 or less to discuss the Wright (2010) blog entry. Share with your group your response to the question, when do you experience being family? (Serves as an ice breaker for students to get to know each other and discuss their perspectives about family)

Suggested Activities
Each group can be assigned a different family theory; the student then apply the family in the Khalili article. Create a visual diagram of the theory with family aspects/factors plugged in (See example in assignments).
